Manado PCG Graces the 25th Silver Anniversary of Universitas Katolik De La Salle Manado
Manado, Indonesia, 07 August 2025 - The Philippine Consulate General in Manado joined the 25th Silver Anniversary Celebration of Universitas Katolik De La Salle Manado (UKDLSM), marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history.
Consul General Mary Jennifer Domingo Dingal, represented the Consulate at the event, which gathered faculty, students, alumni, and distinguished guests in honoring UKDLSM’s contributions to establishment and academic development in North Sulawesi.
The activity was opened with a Thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Mgr. Benedictus Estephanus Rolly Untu, Bishop of the Diocese of Manado. This was followed by a report on the activities for the anniversary by Dr. Arteurt Yosep Merung, Chairman of the Committee for the 25th Anniversary of UKDLSM and a message from Professor Dr. Johanis Ohoitimur, Rector of UKDLSM.
Brother Armin Altamirano Luistro, Superior General of The Brothers of The Christian School and renowned Co-Founder of UKDLSM, delivered his keynote message/homily. In his heartfelt message he said that “there are many things that may be considered imperfect, but that are a common thing in the journey of life. UKDLSM has passed 25
years because it has walked together through failures and at the same time extraordinary achievements. For all of this, we deserve and deserve to be grateful.”
The celebration featured a thanksgiving mass, cultural performances, and the recognition of partners and individuals who have supported the university’s growth. In her message to the UKDLSM leadership, Consul General Dingal conveyed the Consulate’s warm congratulations, highlighting the role of educational institutions in fostering people-to-people linkages between the Philippines and Indonesia.
The Consulate’s participation in the event reaffirms its commitment to strengthening educational and cultural ties within its consular jurisdiction.END

Manado PCG Joins in the Celebration of
International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Month
Manado, Indonesia, 04 August 2025 - The Philippine Consulate General in Manado joined the nationwide observance of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Month through the ceremonial recitation of the IHL Pledge during the Post’s weekly flag-raising ceremony held on Monday, 04 August 2025.
The activity affirms the Post’s continued commitment to upholding and promoting the principles of humanitarian law, particularly the protection of civilians and non-combatants in situations of armed conflict, as enshrined in the Geneva Conventions.
Consul General Mary Jennifer Domoingo Dingal led the oath along with other personnel of the Consulate General. Information Officer Raphael Jonathan J. Tadeo gave a brief introduction on the oath taking activity. END
