Olly Dondokambey, Governor of North Sulawesi Province, attended a Flag Raising Ceremony in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of North Sulawesi Province, held at the field of office of the governor, followed by a plenary session invited by the Interim Speaker of the North Sulawesi House of Representatives (DPRD), Hon. Fransiscus A. Silangen, held at the North Sulawesi DPRD building, Monday, 23 September 2024.

23 September 2024, Manado – The Philippine Consulate General in Manado conducted a film-showing entitled, “Chasing Coral” on Friday, September 20, 2024 in celebration of Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANAMo). The documentary-film presented the issue of coral bleaching in some of the world’s coral reefs in exotic locales such as the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and in the National Marine Sanctuary in Samoa.
The Consulate General invited Ms. Cristel Amarillo, Acting Monitoring and Evaluation Manager of the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF) to give her insights on the process and dangers of coral bleaching and its effects on the marine environment.
